Sustainability

Welcome to Our Sustainability Page!

Reason Research is committed to fostering environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and economic resilience. We’ve taken this commitment and built it into our systems and processes, helping ensure that the natural outcome of our work includes using sustainable practices, promoting ethical values, and embracing diversity.

Accountability is an important aspect of any such effort, so we’ve engaged the sustainability experts at EcoVadis to assess the effectiveness of our initiatives. In our most recent audit, we were awarded the EcoVadis Silver Medal for sustainability, achieving a score higher than 92% percent of all other companies rated by EcoVadis.

We will continue to implement and improve our sustainability framework so that we can make a meaningful contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals and help ensure a thriving, equitable, and resilient planet for generations to come.

Sustainable Development Goals

As a small business offering market research services to the life sciences industry, Reason Research has targeted the following global goals where it can have the most impact:

Our Sustainability Initiatives

Environmental Conservation

Reducing Carbon Footprint: Our company actively seeks ways to minimize carbon emissions by investing in Energy Star equipment (e.g., computers, printers, and monitors), using energy efficient lighting and vacancy sensors, promoting eco-friendly transportation options, and training our staff on best practices for sustainable remote work.

Waste Reduction: We implement waste reduction strategies in our office by reusing personal computers, minimizing paper consumption through the use of the digital files and documents, participating in electronic and office waste recycling programs, and reducing consumption of single-use plastics.

Sustainable Procurement: Our company makes every effort ensure any goods and services we source are as sustainable as possible. In addition, we ensure that our core vendors commit to our supplier code of conduct that covers prohibition of child/forced labor, fair wages and working conditions, workplace safety, environmental responsibility, and ethical business practices.

People and Community

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI): We promote DEI in our HR activities, making efforts to recruit and hire employees from under-represented minority groups.

Volunteering: We provide all employees paid time to volunteer, get involved, and serve their communities.

Community Partnerships: We support our employees’ participation in fundraising for social/patient causes by offering a company match to the contribution.

Giving to the Community: Beginning 2023, our company began donating personal computing devices that no longer meet our technical requirements to disadvantaged children. Reason Research donated 4 personal computers in 2023 and we expect to continue the trend in 2024 as well.

Business Ethics, Policy and Transparency

Fair Labor Standards: We uphold fair labor standards throughout our operations ensuring safe working conditions, fair wages, equal pay, and respect for human rights in line with Federal, State, Local, and International laws.

Anti-bribery and Corruption: Our company is committed to conducting business in an ethical and honest manner and has zero tolerance for bribery and corruption. We aim to comply with the anti-bribery laws of the US and other jurisdictions in which we do business. These laws generally prohibit bribes, kickbacks, or illegal payments to influence business transactions and require maintaining accurate books, records, and a system of internal controls.

Transparency: We are committed to transparency and accountability in our operations, regularly communicating our sustainability goals, progress, and challenges to our stakeholders.

Carbon Neutrality: We aim to achieve carbon neutrality in our operations by 2050.
